An Agilent A 6890 N gas chromatograph/5973 network mass spectrometer equipped with an Agilent 6893 liquid autosampler.

  • Mass range: 1.6 – 800 u in 0.1 u steps; any subset of this range may be selected by the user
  • Scan rate: scan rates up to 5,200 u/second with 0.1 u scan step size, with eight sampling rates.

We have designed and assembled a high pressure bioreactor system for cultivating piezophilic bacteria at hydrostatic pressures of up to 100 MPa (1,000 atm). The culture chamber (600 mL) is thermostatted with an external cooling circuit that can maintain temperatures as low as -20oC.
